About Us

The Spartan is a monthly publication created by the communications class at the La Cañada High School. All the stories in the publication reflect the opinion of each individual writer. The Spartan reports the events that occur on campus, around the community, and throughout the world. We hope to be a voice for the students and staff at LCHS.

Mr. Ben Powers creates the curriculum of Communications, and oversees the publication The Spartan. The course strives to teach the importance of journalistic writing, illuminate the tenets of ethical reportage, and instill critical thinking abilities in both the staff and the readers of The Spartan.
